About Me
I wasn’t sporty as a kid, at school I was the one dreading Phys-Ed classes and athletics events, and feeling like I was going to die doing “cross country” events. When I started weight training in 2009, I picked up basic principles and workouts from bodybuilding websites, intending to feel and look stronger and fitter. Before that, I had tried and failed repeatedly to change my body through short runs, fasted cardio, and completely uneducated efforts that left me hating every second of it. Looking back, I kick myself for not discovering weight training sooner. Despite my initial cluelessness and lack of a structured plan, I quickly experienced the empowering effects of training, both physically and mentally. After nearly a year of self-guided progress, I realised I needed expert guidance to continue to get results.
In October 2010, I became a client at Biologic Labs in Brisbane, Australia, under the guidance of body recomposition expert Damon Hayhow. It was there that I learned how to deadlift for the first time and was introduced to a nutrition plan with far more calories than I was used to. This was a transformative shift in my approach to training and nutrition—and it worked. Within just three months, I saw significant strength gains, dramatic improvements in my body composition, and felt better than ever before. I was hooked, and this experience set the foundation for my passion for evidence-based training and nutrition.
This process boosted my confidence, strengthened my mindset, and instilled a deep sense of discipline and work ethic that positively impacted every aspect of my professional and personal life. The knowledge I gained during this time was truly life-changing. Motivated to push even further, I set some bigger strength and body composition goals. In 2011, I competed in the state IFBB competition, placing 2nd in Figure Novice. The following year, I competed in the state GPC 'Push/Pull' Powerlifting Competition, where I set a national record in the Open Women’s bench press and deadlift.
Shortly after this success, I was given the amazing opportunity to become a coach myself, working at Biologic La, so I happily left my office job behind to become a Certified Recomp Coach (the first female to earn this certification in Australia). To earn this, I completed the ASCA Strength Coach accreditation and ISSN Sports Nutritionist certification, along with many hours of hands-on experience in the gym under the mentorship of Damon Hayhow.
I have read hundreds of books, listened to thousands of podcast episodes, and jump at every chance for further education to ensure I am well versed in this ever-evolving industry to deepen my knowledge on recovery, nutrition, and the finer details that truly enhance my coaching process. This dedication ensures I can provide personalised, well-rounded support grounded in proven principles, tailored to help each client succeed.
After several years working at Biologic Labs, learning and growing as a coach, helping many clients achieve their goals, I joined the Recomp HQ team in Melbourne from 2013 to early 2023 (which later relocated to the Gold Coast). During this period, I had the privilege of coaching even more clients to achieve remarkable body recomposition results. I truly came into my own, building an amazing and loyal client base and even guiding several clients to compete and place in the top 3 at national powerlifting competitions. It was really some of the best years in terms of both training and development. My strength skyrocketed during this time, and I hit some of my all-time best records in the gym.
Since May 2023, I have proudly operated my own business on the Gold Coast in Australia, offering coaching services both online and face to face at Body Temple. It’s been a privilege to continue working with long-term clients and to help many more transform their bodies through a structured, sustainable approach to body recomposition. The same method that changed my own body is the one I use to help others build strength, lose fat, and feel in control. If you choose to work with me, I’ll guide you through a process that works—because I’ve lived it myself.
